Travel to Kamo River - East in Eastern Kyoto. Follow the temple wall around the corner and enter the stone-lantern gateway on the left.
Check: Seal the Rifts appears with a 0/2 counter beside the pond.
Seal the two Rifts
Clear the pond's enemy waves and hold L2 at Absorb Rift. Cross the large gate, clear the second courtyard and hold L2 at its sphere.
Check: The roots withdraw from the main hall and Go and find Ifuu and Burai appears.
Defeat both bosses
Enter the main hall. Keep both opponents in view, evade the wind and lightning zones and use short counters after their attacks. Continue until both bosses fall.
Check: The battle ends and the story returns to the dragon painting and temple conversations.
Complete the conversations
Let the scenes with Okuni and Takamura finish.
Check: Story Complete — Storm Chaser, followed by In the Light of an Icy Moon.
Storm Chaser follows A Haunted Distraction. Ifuu and Burai have called Musashi back to Kennin-ji Temple, but two Rifts block the way to their rematch.
This route approaches from Kamo River - East, clears both courtyards and finishes the double-boss encounter. Shopping and equipment upgrades before traveling are optional. The instructions use PlayStation button labels.
Travel to Kamo River - East
At a Spirit Mirror, choose Travel → Eastern Kyoto → Kamo River - East and confirm with Cross (×).

Turn away from the destination mirror and follow the street with the temple boundary wall on your right. At the corner, turn right around the wall into the narrow lane. The wall is now on your left and bamboo is on your right.
Continue along the lane to the stone-paved entrance on the left, between stone lanterns. Deal with the enemies in the street, then pass through that gateway. Follow the stone path into the pond garden.

The objective changes to Seal the Rifts — 0/2. The first red sphere floats in front of the large gate across the pond.
Seal the Rift beside the pond
Clear the enemies around the pond and stone path. More than one group appears, so stay in the garden until the encounter is over. Use the open stretches of path to keep attackers in front of you, and move away from the wind columns when they cross your fighting space.
Against the sword-wielding Genma, hold L1 to guard. Wait for the sequence to end before using a short Square (□) counter. If enemies surround you beside the pond or rocks, Circle (○) lets you evade toward clearer ground.
Once the last enemies are defeated, approach the sphere above the bridge. When Absorb Rift appears, hold L2 until the sphere breaks apart.

Wait for the roots to withdraw and confirm Seal the Rifts — 1/2. Cross the bridge and go through the newly opened large gate.
Clear the second courtyard and enter the main hall
Follow the stone path straight across the next courtyard. The second Rift hangs in front of the main hall, above its short stone steps.
Defeat the enemy waves in this courtyard. Avoid chasing one enemy into a tree or the hall steps while another is approaching from behind. Reposition into the open center, guard the incoming melee sequence and counter when it ends.
When the sphere gives Absorb Rift, approach it and hold L2 until it collapses.

The roots withdraw from the hall entrance and the objective changes to Go and find Ifuu and Burai. Climb the short steps and walk through the dark central doorway. Entering the hall starts the scene beneath the dragon painting and takes you into the boss arena.
Fight Ifuu and Burai together
The two opponents are Ifuu — Fearsome Gale, carrying the large fan, and Burai — Lightning Keeper, carrying the club and surrounded by purple lightning. Both are active in the floating arena.

The main difficulty is the overlap between their attacks. Keep both enemies in view before committing to a combo. If one is close while the other moves out of sight, create space and turn until you can see them together again.
Use short Square combinations after an attack finishes. Hold L1 against ordinary close-range swings, or hold L1 and press Cross just before impact to Deflect. Do not assume blocking the first swing gives you a safe attack window: the other boss can follow it immediately.
Move out of the combined wind and lightning
Ifuu produces broad gusts and wind columns, while Burai creates lightning strikes and purple projectiles. When they pull away and begin their combined attack, stop chasing and watch the space between you and them.
- Wind crossing the arena: move sideways out of the gust's path and use Circle when it closes in. Avoid retreating in a straight line through the wind.
- Lightning at your position: leave the glowing area before the strike lands. Keep moving while additional columns appear.
- Purple orbs with lines across the floor: move toward a clear gap rather than attacking through the cluster. Wait for the immediate volley to pass before closing the distance.

After the attack, close in for a short counter and check the second boss again. Ifuu's fan swings and Burai's club combinations remain dangerous at close range even when the large effects have ended.
Use openings and finish both opponents
Take the Square weak-point prompt when an enemy becomes vulnerable. If you have enough Oni Power, use your equipped Oni Armament with R1 during an opening.
Oni Awakening is also available: when its gauge is full, press L3 + R3. During Awakening, R1 performs Onimusha Onslaught and ends the form. After it ends, return to normal defense and make room before healing.
You can defeat the bosses one after the other. In this route, Ifuu falls first. Once his boss bar disappears, focus on Burai; continue avoiding the purple-orb pattern and counter after his club attacks or landing.

Keep fighting until Burai falls and the encounter transitions out of the arena. A stagger or weak-point attack alone is not the end of the battle.
Finish Storm Chaser
Let the scene beneath the dragon painting finish, followed by the temple conversations with Okuni and Takamura. You do not need to find a separate exit from the floating arena.
Wait for Story Complete — Storm Chaser after the conversations. The next story is In the Light of an Icy Moon, beginning with Investigate Arashiyama.
