Kamo River – East Oni Refuge

This route leads from Kamo River – East to a hidden Oni Refuge beneath a covered well. Its puzzle uses the Oni Bow to move ornate blocks up and down. You need the Oni Bow and Oni Vision; the inputs below use the PlayStation layout.

Find the covered well beyond the target shop

Choose Travel → Eastern Kyoto → Kamo River – East at a Spirit Mirror. Follow the riverside path to the wooden crossing beside the enormous roots. Continue around the roots and along the narrow wooden walkways into the waterside houses.

Follow the lane beside the houses, cross the shallow, muddy area and clear the Genma in your way. Use the bow against the attacker above the roofline before climbing the wooden ramp between the houses. Beyond it, the route reaches a shop decorated with red lanterns, hanging coloured strips, round archery targets and a parasol.

From this shop, follow the lane past the barrels and stone lantern. Turn into the narrow bamboo-fenced alley beside the buildings. A roofed enclosure stands at its end; the well ladder is inside it.

Descend the well, continuing down the ladders from each wooden landing until you reach the stone passage at the bottom. Follow that passage to the space between the tall lanterns.

Use L2 + R2 — Oni Vision to reveal the golden Glyph. Approach and press Cross (×) — Use Oni Power. Wait for the golden eye to form, then press Cross — Examine to enter the refuge.

Lower the first block and inspect the broken corridor

From the arrival eye, face the ruined wooden building ahead. An ornate block with a red circular target obstructs its doorway. Hold R2, aim at that red target and release R2 to fire the Oni Bow. The block moves down, opening the doorway.

Enter the wooden corridor and look ahead at its missing floor. You still need to arrange the outer blocks before crossing. Return to the doorway and take the narrow exterior ledge around the building, keeping to the rock beside its outer wall.

Shoot the two blocks across the gap

From the ledge, turn back toward the ruins. Through the broken wooden frame, you can see two ornate blocks across the gap. Aim at the red target on the left-hand block and fire. Wait for it to descend, then shoot the right-hand block's red target so that it also descends.

Check that both blocks have moved down before leaving this position. Return around the building toward the arrival eye between the ruined pillars.

Raise the lower block, then reopen the first doorway

Beside the arrival eye, take the descending rocky path around the cliff, away from the wooden corridor. Follow it to the lower ledge beside another face of the block arrangement.

A low ornate block sits immediately beside this ledge. Stand on the rock, face its red target and fire the bow. This time, the block moves up. Stay on the ledge while it moves.

Return up the rock path, past the arrival eye, to the first ruined doorway. Shoot its red target again to lower the block out of the passage.

Walk into the wooden corridor. The gold-topped block surfaces now provide the missing footing. Step across them to the wooden platform on the far side, then turn toward the red flowers and cave entrance.

Reach the Oni Woman's memory and return to the street

Cross the short approach through the red flowers and enter the cave between the lanterns. Follow it into the grey landscape and continue toward the Oni Woman to reach the memory scene.

After the scene, you return to the passage beneath the well. Confirm New Enhancements Available at Spirit Mirrors and the rewards Hempen Cloth × 2, Power Stone × 1 and Oni Stone × 1.

Climb the ladder ahead, continue upward from the wooden landings and exit through the covered well. Follow the fenced alley back to the street. You can now visit a Spirit Mirror to inspect the newly available enhancements.
