Oni Cloth (Regeneration)

Oni Cloth (Regeneration) unlocks a Hozuki Pouch that restores health and stamina gradually over time. This route starts at Kiyomizu-zaka Slope after the initial pouch repair and ends with the new pouch equipped. PlayStation inputs are used below.

Climb the roofs beside the Kiyomizu-zaka Slope mirror

At a Spirit Mirror, choose Travel → Eastern Kyoto → Kiyomizu-zaka Slope. From the arrival mirror, turn into the narrow passage beside the adjacent house. Look for the stone steps and the wooden ladder on their left, fixed against the raised building.

Climb that ladder to the slatted roof. Take the second ladder ahead, which reaches the next, higher roof. Walk along the roof, step down to its lower section and drop to the shop-lined stone street.

Follow the street through the huge grey root arch. At the red-thread barrier above a short set of steps, you may receive Cannot be destroyed from this side. Turn around: the route to the cloth goes around the outside of this enclosure.

Follow the downhill street into the red-flower village

With that barrier behind you, follow the downhill street past the shops and braziers. Clear the Genma in your way. Pass the building with a raised wooden platform on a stone base, keeping to the descending street instead of its loot-filled side alleys.

Continue beside the building toward the open wooden gate and red flowers below. Enemies occupy the gateway and the wooden platforms beyond it. Keep the nearby attackers in view; use the Oni Bow — hold and release R2 against enemies firing from the platforms.

At the back of this fighting area, approach the barrier formed from two grey faces joined by red strands. Hold Cross (×) at Use Oni Power until it tears open. Step through into the sloping village beyond.

Cross the village and climb onto the root-covered roof

Go down past the thatched huts. Follow the path around their outer walls and through the narrow wooden fencing near the cart wheel and broken timber. This leads to the lower group of damaged huts, with red flowers growing up the slope.

Clear the enemies around the huts, including the attackers above sword range. Move up the red-flower slope beside the high stone-and-plaster wall to the next red-thread barrier. Stand in front of its joined faces and hold Cross until it breaks apart.

Return down the slope to the hut beneath the large roots. Its exterior ladder stands against the raised stone wall and bamboo framework. Climb it, then walk over the broad grey roots across the roof. You will overlook an enclosed courtyard with a red wooden building and hanging red lanterns. Drop into that courtyard.

Reveal the small shrine's chest for the cloth

Face the small wooden shrine between two stone lanterns, to the side of the larger red building. Use L2 + R2 — Oni Vision to reveal its golden Glyph. Approach and press Cross — Use Oni Power. Wait for the black-and-gold ornate chest to appear, then press Cross — Examine to open it.

The item notice reads Oni Cloth (Regeneration) × 1. The ordinary chest in front of the larger building contains a different item; check the cloth's name before leaving.

Turn to the courtyard's red-thread barrier. You are now on the side where Use Oni Power works: hold Cross to tear it open and return to the shop-lined street.

Give it to Okuni, then equip the red pouch

Return to Rokudo-chinnoji Temple and speak to Okuni using Cross — Talk. Finish the cloth hand-in conversation. The Hozuki Pouch: Regeneration notice confirms that the new pouch has been made; its effect is a slow recovery of health and stamina over time.

Open the pouch selection, highlight the red Regeneration pouch and press Triangle (△) — Equip. Unlocking it and equipping it are separate steps.

Only one pouch can be equipped at a time. You can also change the equipped pouch at a Spirit Mirror. The materials listed under enhancement apply to upgrading the pouch; this cloth unlocks the pouch type, so do not treat that enhancement list as the hand-in requirement.
